June Net Worth

June Summary.

Everything dropped! I guess that is a good and bad thing all at once.

My student loan debt dropped to a still staggering 62K. Year over year that is a drop of 10k. Something I think I can be proud of considering that I am also saving money. I will be completely paying off one of my private loans within the next month and rolling that money into yet another private loan. These private loans are my #1 focus before the government sponsored loans due to the variable rate.

My assets dropped as well. This is due to a pullback in the stock market as well as the fact that I closed an old 401(k) from my last employer. I was not fully vested (due to my job hopping nature which will be a post in the future the Pros vs Cons) so I lost some money that was never really mine.

Here is where we stand now.

March and April Net Worth

Things have improved financially, but there have been quite a bit of changes in my life.

1. Got promoted! I will be making around 15% more a year from a salary perspective. Bonus pool really opens up at the new level. I will be eligible for a 25% check annually if I perform at the highest level. All in all, I expect to make six figures at a minimum with large upside. Even more importantly I get to save more $$$. This will come in the form of, now larger, 401(k) contributions with match, or saving in my own brokerage account and savings accounts.

2. Got engaged! This caused a hit to my cash stockpile, but I also used my bonus check to cancel out the majority of the impact.

I think it looks like 2011 is the year where I will finally become net worth positive.

The details:

MONTH      ASSETS          DEBTS             NET
